Lincoln Auto
Licoln Auot and Truck Bruce Hoffner
The history of Lincoln Auto & Truck is essentially the story of it's founder, Bruce Hoffner.

Bruce started working at the young age of ten at a gas station in his hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts. His insatible love of automobiles, drove him to purchase his first car at twelve years of age. In his teens he attended Worcester Boys Trade School. While there, a representative from the local International Harvester Truck Dealership offered him a job paying $1.50 more per hour than his classmates were making in the automobile field. He quickly took the job, and worked nights on heavy duty trucks, until he graduated in 1974.

Upon graduation, he worked full time at a Diesel Truck Repair shop, and eventually worked at a truck body-shop while studying Damage Appraisal evenings at Northeastern University. Shortly, the economy started a down-swing and Bruce was laid off. With no medical insurance, and with his first son on the way, Bruce chose to sell the family car to pay for medical expenses. If not for this twist of fate Lincoln Auto & Truck would never have been created! Fortunately the Diesel Truck Dealership didn't cancel his insurance until after Bruce Jr. was born, but with the family car sold, Bruce sought to reinvest his money in a used vehicle. But of course, bills have a way of piling up, and that car had to be sold as well. A used car dealer was born!

In 1975, Bruce Sr. applied for, and received a dealer's license to sell cars from his parents home at 590 Lincoln Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The economy started to boom and the business grew, from buying and selling cars, to include rentals, limousines, auto glass, and body work. After a several good years the economy slowed down again and it was back to square one. At that time his eldest son, Bruce Jr., began selling cars at a Cadillac and Pontiac Dealership, and shortly he decided to come to work with his father in the family business.

With Bruce Jr, running the shop, Bruce Sr. was able to travel the country buying cars to sell wholesale to other dealers, and for the Lincoln Street lot. Through this method, and his own work ethic, he was able to offer his customers a wide range of quality vehicles. On a weekly basis Bruce Sr. has the opportunity to view and purchase in excess of 15,000 vehicles. This allows him to offer his customers the best vehicles at the best prices.

With Bruce's extensive background in, and and knowledge of, automobiles, he is able to differentiate the "desirable" from the "not so desirable" vehicles on the market. Bruce believes that this is the secret to Lincoln Auto and Truck's success. He doesn't even mind that he and his sons are fondly referred to as "Motor Heads" because of their love of cars.

We invite you to experience our dealership with it's "New England family atmosphere" for yourself. The main office is presently in the converted family house. Come on down and be welcomed like "one of the family".
